Ecchymotic urticaria.

Abstract

Urticaria is common in the first year of life. The diagnosis in non classic cases is facilitated by the mother, who talks of "bubbles" arisen recently, for example from hours; in order to appreciate the disappearance with-out residua the mother should be questioned about lesions in exposed areas. It is also useful to remember that the distribution of lesions is asymmetric and especially that the lesions have very different sizes. The lack of itching is almost the rule in the child and ecchymotic lesions, such as on the abdomen of this child, are found in case out of 5. Finally, unlike eczema urticarial lesions are smooth to the touch.
