Linear hyperpigmentation in a newborn.

Abstract

An exceptional linear pigmentation following the ventral bending lines of the fetal position is reported in a newborn infant. The hyperpigmentation follows a slight initial erythema of the deepest portion of the folds and spontaneously regresses within 18 months (Presented in the International Congress of Neonatal Dermatology, Bari, Italy, September 24-27, 1998).
