Update on childhood cutaneous porphyrias.

Abstract

The Author reports the results of the Cardiff Porphyria Research Group on erythropoietic protoporphyria, with reference to genetics, vitamin D and iron deficiency and epatopathy, and on congenital erythropoietic porphyria, with reference to its symptomatic treatment, allogeneic bone marrow transplantation and future gene therapy.
