35 children with atopic dermatitis (AD) underwent 9 years later the same investigations (total IgE, prick tests and spirometry) already performed at the first visit. Moreover, methacoline test was also performed. 9 years later AD peristed in 50% of cases, even though in a not severe form. All the AD subjects presented a positive methacholine test, also those ones who had never suffered from asthma in their history (Presented in the International Congress of Neonatal Dermatology - Bari - Italy, September 24-27, 1998).
