Abstract

Dermatologists are theoretically experts in skin disinfection and pediatricians are experts in care of the neonates. Do these specialists communicate when addressing to the problem of umbilical cord care? Probably not: dermatologists are usually not concerned at all by this problem and pediatricians usually delegate these cares to nurses who frequently refer to old written protocols.
