Glomus tumor. An atypical case in pediatric age.

Abstract

We report a case of a 5-year-old boy with a tumor of the first fingertip of the right hand, not characterized by specific symptoms or clinical features, associated with a decrease in hand function. Radiologic examination showed an elongated osteolytic area. After surgical removal, the pathological examination revealed a glomangioma (myxoid form of glomus tumor). Full functional recovery of the hand with good esthetic results was achieved.
