Abstract

A 3-day-old female newborn was referred to our dermatology clinic due to the presence of a verrucous plaque on her left cheek since birth. She was delivered vaginally at full-term without any complication after birth. Patient’s mother was free from any diseases and there was no history of drug intake during pregnancy. Parents were second degree relative. She was a second child. There was no family history of similar problems. Clinical examination revealed a well-defined, waxy, verrucous, oval plaque, 4 x 2 cm in diameter, and yellow-pink in color on her left cheek (Fig. 1). There were no other skin lesions. The rest of the examination including neurological and ophthalmological assessment did not show any abnormalities. Computed tomography of the brain revealed no abnormalities. Punched biopsy was done and the histopathological examination is shown in Fig. 2.  WHAT IS THE DIAGNOSIS?
