The Author showed the characteristics of a cutaneous patch test called SAFT (Skin Application Food Test). The test is useful to put in evidence immediate immunological contact reactions so frequent in children with atopic dermatitis. As compared with other skin tests SAFT is particularly useful in highly sensitised patients and in small children.
