Nevus comedonicus following vaccination with the Human Papilloma Virus vaccine.

Abstract

Nevus comedonicus is characterized by clusters of dilated follicular openings with keratin plugging. It is thought to be a hamartoma of the pilosebaceous unit, resulting in the production of keratin without hair formation. A 13-year-old girl presented a few hours after the vaccination with the Human Papilloma Virus vaccine a linear rash followed several weeks later by nevus comedonicus that extended from the injection site to the left shoulder tip.
